Benjamin D'Aoust

Belgian, Benjamin D'Aoust was born in Brussels, on April 10, 1979. After studying Journalism, History & Theory of Cinema and Scriptwriting at ULB (Bruxelles), Benjamin wrote and directed two short fictions : Mur (2006) and Point de fuite (2011). Passionated and polyvalent, he also worked for a few years as an assistant location manager and assistant director on various cinema sets, wrote film-critics, has animated workshops on audiovisual editing, and worked as journalist/editor for a TV program. As a scriptdoctor/writer, he collaborated on various shorts, and a few feature. In 2012, were published the two first volumes of Shrimp, a comic book (Dargaud), which is co-wrote. In 2014, The Night We Suppose, his first long documentary, won the Magritte du meilleur documentaire.
He is now working on The Break, a crime TV Series which he created and wrote with Stéphane Bergmans and Matthieu Donck. The Break will premiere on Belgian national television in February 2016.
