Bernard Gillain

Bernard Gillain is a music enthusiast. Long radio producer at RTBF and friends of the great names of French music, he decided to mix sound and image by performing songs films. A few years later, he chose to take his camera in his adventures by bicycle. Andes, Paris-Brussels in pedal boats, Bhutan, Chile or France, he travels the world in search of magical images. It is described thus: "My grandfather Eugene opened my drawer of his land. My father put me on a bike blowing me the faith that moves mountains and my mother taught me caution. My uncle Joseph, alias "Jijé" I inherited some of his imagination and sense of adventure. Brel put me at the font of the revolt. Ferré me more than comforted in the idea. Brassens me round the corners as much as possible. Félix Leclerc and Vigneault arrived with their wilderness as vast as their province. Jacques Bertin invited me to his strange party where poetry and newspaper are rhyme. Pete Seeger taught me how to think globally and act locally. Finally Julos Beaucarne arrived with his little kingdom he gave me the key. Since I try, somehow, to be positive with the energy of despair in my life, in my profession of reporter and ... on my bike which continues to carry me across the world and in my street ... "
