Bruxelles-Kigali
Belgium, 2011, 118 minutes
With virtuosity, the director of film and theatre continues exploring the history and legacy of the Rwandan genocide. Having already made several films linked to the theatrical play Rwanda 94 by Groupov, she now presents this poignant film covering the trial in absentia, in a Brussels courtroom, of Ephrem Nkezabera: banker and director of extremist Hutu militias. For the victims, describing the absolute horror they lived through, and actually being heard, is a fundamental step for their personal recovery.
