Violaine de Villers

Born in Brussels in 1947, Violaine de Villers follows the philosophy of candidates at the University of Louvain. She interrupted his university studies in the excitement of the events of May 1968, and again fifteen years later (Master in Economic and Social Policy). After studies in Africa Image on TV a voluminous work commissioned by the F.A.O. she directed her first film "In the warm countries" on cooperation in Africa.
After "The sublime blandness ... Marguerite Duras," and then two short films in video, "Place of London" and "The Shadow of Colors," Violaine de Villers directed several feature films with a political dimension. She obtained numerous international awards, particularly for his film "Mizike Mama", a musical film about the Belgian-Congolese cultural mix.
Since 2000, Violaine de Villers dedicates his film to artists. They include "O Colors" on his father, the painter Thierry de Villers; "Watermark", "rolling stones" with the painter Bernard Villers.
In 2007, she directed three films in collaboration with the Institute of Human Sciences of the University of Lille for multimedia book The color experience: "Let's talk color", "Mirage", "The Color Conspiracy" .
In 2011, she has two films devoted to the sculptor Marianne Berenhaut "Dolls-bins" and "Family Marianne Berenhaut".

His latest film "The Careers Roby Comblain" the visual artist and scenographer, just introduced a preview in Brussels June 16, 2014.
Today, Violaine de Villers is preparing a new film about art with Walter Swennen, a Belgian painter considered one of the most innovative artists currently working in Belgium.

On the other hand, she realizes with Jean-Pierre outers film archive tours of China in 1987-88, thereby reviving interest in the discovery of cultures elsewhere and their foundations.
